Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 10

Week 10 Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em, what should you do with the borderline starters, maybe your flex position, or your 12 team leagues where the WR2 is always a gamble. We’ll run through a few players that you should start if you are thinking of picking them up, or if you already have them. And we’ll be looking at who should be on your bench his week/ We’ll avoid the obvious start players like Tyreek Hill, Jonathon Taylor etc.

Start – Devin Singletary – Buffalo Bills

The Bills running backs have been a source of frustration for fantasy managers all season. Both Zack Moss and Devin Singletary have capped each others fantasy usage. Singletary has taken more of a backseat recently, not topping 50% of snaps since week 2, and many predicted a strong performance in week 9 for Moss against a leaky Jaguars defence. But when he went down early in the third quarter with a concussion, opening the door for SIngletary to log 72% snaps on his way to 59 yards on 13 touches.

This week the Bills face off against one of the worst run defences in the Jets. If Zack Moss can’t go, then Singletary is a great option as both a runner and pass catching back.

Start – Rashod Bateman – Baltimore Ravens

There was a buzz around the Ravens rookie receiver before the season started but a groin injury delayed his unveiling into the NFL. Since making his debut in week 6, Bateman has caught 12 of 20 targets for 161 yards. In week 9, he set new season bests in snaps played (66%) and targets (8). He was also targeted deep by Lamar Jackson on a couple of occasions, which bodes well for future chances of big plays.

Week 10 see him line up against a beatable Dolphins defence, and with three games now under his belt I think now is the time Bateman explodes onto the scene as a legitimate WR2/3 in fantasy.

Sit – DJ Moore – Carolina Panthers

With Sam Darnold’s play having nose dived in recent weeks, life as a Panthers receiver has been tough. Robby Anderson has taken the bulk of criticism but DJ Moore has been equally as insignificant of late. Over the past five weeks, Moore has been WR58, WR38, WR26, WR44 and WR43. Moore owners are probably all too familiar with his lack of production of late so perhaps won’t need me telling them to drop him, but its still hard to believe after such a fast start to the season.

Sam Darnold now has a shoulder injury that will keep him out for several week, with PJ Walker set to replace him. Moore owners may be hopeful that with a new quarterback throwing the ball his season may get the boost it needs. But with a tricky matchup against a decent Cardinals defence, i’d wait to see how things play out before trusting Moore in my lineups again.

Sit – Jarvis Landry – Cleveland Browns

With OBJ out the door, many looked at Landry to step up in week 9 against the Bengals. But whilst Baker and the running game helped to put their rivals away 41 to 16, Landry remained quiet with 3 catches for just 11 yards.

Its difficult to determine if this showing was down to game script or the knee injury Landry has been nursing the past couple of weeks. The 25% target share in all three of his games since returning from injury would point towards better days ahead but with a trip to New England up next its hard to see Landry making week 10 the time for a breakout.
