Undrafted – The Network

Rating the reds: Leeds 0-3 Liverpool

Another win under the belt and back to top of the league, albeit joint with Man Utd and Chelsea. Let’s have a look to see who won us the game, and who could’ve performed better. Unfortunately we lost one of the biggest positives from the season so far, Harvey Elliott. Wish him all the best and a quick recovery.

GK – Alisson – 7/10

Made a solid save in the first 5 minutes from a Rodrigo shot, which was blasted straight towards him. Commanded his box when he was called upon. Had to sprint back to his line in the 82nd minute to tip the ball over the bar from an audacious attempt from Bamford.

RB – Alexander-Arnold – 7/10

Two free kicks in the first 15 minutes that were absolutely wasted, one straight into the wall and one over the heads of everyone. He then went on and supplied the assist for Salah’s first goal with a low driven cross into the 6 yard area. Kept Harrison quiet all game and put in a solid performance.

CB – Van Dijk – 7/10

Very quiet first half for Van Dijk with no notable involvement other than a header from a corner which he should’ve done better with. Van Dijk controlled the pace of the game from the back for the majority of the second half. Nothing seemed to trouble him all game.

CB – Matip – 7/10

Created the first goal with a great run deep into the Leeds half before passing it onto Salah. Had a fairly quiet game other than that, but solid yet again.

LB – Robertson – 7/10

Did great all game at keeping Raphina quiet, while getting forward to support Mane and Thiago who played quite a lot of the first half on the left hand side of midfield.

CM – Fabinho – 8/10

Fabinho had his weekly yellow card in the first 15 minutes of the match, but maintained his commitment to cutting out Leeds’ counter attacks throughout the match. Unlike his weekly yellow card, Fabinho got himself onto the score sheet for the first time this season, with a half volley from a corner that wasn’t cleared.

CM – Thiago – 8/10

Thiago kept the midfield ticking with some lovely passing to move the ball from left to right. He also got on the end of a Salah cross, which unfortunately was offside. Thiago provided the assist for Mane who finally put away one of his many chances.

CM – Elliott – 8/10

Some great dribbling getting him into some attacking positions, this kid is slowly finding his feet in this Liverpool team but is still playing everything safe. The game took a horrific turn when what it looks like the last time we’ll see Elliott this season. Strujik with a harmless tackle ended up finishing Elliott’s season. Absolutely gutted for the lad.

RW – Salah – 9/10

Looked lively from the start and got himself into the right place to tap home Trent’s cross, getting his name on the scoresheet. Firpo will sleep well tonight after having to follow Salah around, with the only way to stop him by holding onto his shirt. Was a bit quieter the second half but the whole game was deflated after the injury to Elliott.

ST – Jota – 7/10

Solid enough first half from Diogo, causing issues for the Leeds defence. Got into some open spaces towards the end of the first half but Mane failed to pick him out. Second half was more of the same, with Mane letting him down time and time again.

LW – Mane – 6/10

Couple of final passes that stopped the attack unfortunately and then missed from 4 yards out, yes it was hit hard but should’ve done better. He slowly grew into the second half with a shot narrowly missing from outside the box. Sadio took way too long with an opportunity early in the second half, which ended up leading to the corner which Fabinho scored off. The score could’ve been 5/6-0 but Mane was very wasteful. Mane finally scored in stoppage time which has saved him from getting a 3/10 rating.
