Here at Undrafted we have been following Euro 2020/21 closely and analysing performances from individual players and teams. With knockout football upon us and the Group Standings now complete we can make our prediction for who will go on to win the prestigious player of the tournament award. The Undrafted The Network writers will all choose one player each and explain the reasoning behind that decision.

Prediction for player of the tournament –  Cristiano Ronaldo

Well I’m going to be boring. After the sensational group stage CR7 has had, he’s already favourite for POTT.

Portugal face Belgium next, which is undoubtedly a tricky game for them, however if they do manage to win, Ronaldo will be heavily involved.

This will see Portugal through to live another day and another game for Ronaldo to shine. I fully expect him to hit 6 or 7 goals for the tournament and win numerous awards.

Prediction for player of the tournament – Memphis Depay

Having assisted once and scored twice in the group stage, Memphis will continue on his fine form into the knockout rounds. Czech Republic in the last 16 then Wales/Denmark in the Quarters, you fancy him to get another couple of goals in these games. Realistically then they have Germany/England in the Semis and if he can help the Netherlands get to their first Euro’s final since 1988 anything can happen, and he can most certainly be named the player of the tournament.

Prediction for player of the tournament – Ciro Immobile

Based off of my predictions, the player of the Tournament will be a very difficult award to give out. My pick however goes along with the fact that I believe Italy will be making the final, thanks in part to the lethal scoring boots of one Ciro Immobile. Alongside Manuel Locatelli, we are beginning to see Italy as a serious threat and both Immobile and Locatelli currently sit on two goals apiece, however played 100 minutes less than most of their scoring rivals. My predictions give England the win overall, however in getting them to the final, I think Immobile shows how good he really is.

The MOTM from this years Champions League final will finish this year with a Euro 2020 winners medal and a player of the tournament award if all goes to plan for France.

We all know what Kante brings to a team especially in those big moments, those big games. He’s the best player in the French side, without a doubt. The heart and soul of the midfield. He may not score/assist this tournament, but it’s the interceptions, the energy in the middle of the park and his ability to break play up and sniff out counter attacks that makes him so special.
