Welcome back to our weekly racing blogs here at Dare To Dream!
I’d like to start off sending condolences to all involved with Diligent Lady, and best wishes to Ali Rawlinson for a speedy recovery.
Last week was filled with many Dare To Dream runners, and a lot of experiments.
Pink Flamingo just didn’t enjoy herself at Windsor on Monday. We expected a big run as we touched on in last weeks blog, but she simply just didn’t go on the ground.
Her half sister, Swiss Flamingo ran the same, but lost both front shoes during the course of the race.
Moving on to Sandown, where many of our owners enjoyed a fantastic day out, and were looked after superbly by the staff.
Vandad ran an exceptional race, in a tougher grade than he’s used to. With our lad being so fast, nothing could lead him into the race, meaning we had to pretty much set our own pace. He got beat less than a length and it’s exciting to see what the future holds for him.
Rhubarb Bikini was our second runner at Sandown, and it was always going to be a learning experience. The race was incredibly tough, and he didn’t manage to get a nice easy lead. Despite the bare result, he really didn’t run too badly, and we will look to step him up to 1m 2f in the near future.
Our third and final runner on Saturday came in the form of Street Parade at Bath. Grace McEntee gave him a lovely calm ride, and finished 3rd despite being cut up in the final furlong by the eventual winner. He’s another horse running very consistently, and will win soon enough.
Onto this week, and another busy few days for Dare To Dream!
Monday 14th June – 7.30 Windsor – Concierge
The fantastic Concierge heads to Windsor tonight to run in the tough 6f sprint.
Things at Haydock just didn’t go right for him last time, and hopefully he can go close tonight.
The ground will be lightening quick, but hopefully that’ll suit him.
Tuesday 15th June – 5.45 Brighton – Pink Flamingo
As we touched on earlier, Pink Flamingo just didn’t enjoy her race at Windsor last week.
She’s completely fine after that race, and hopefully has a great chance at Brighton on Tuesday.
Tuesday 15th June – 6.20 Brighton – Nordic Glory
We think very highly of Nordic Glory, and have waited until he’s 100% to run him for a second time.
For the first 2 furlongs on debut at Bath, he didn’t really have a clue what he was doing, but once he got into his stride, he was really impressive.
It looks to be a tough race, but we’d love him to run another blinding race.
Thursday 17th June – 2.10 Chelmsford – Minhaaj
Minhaaj was another horse we tried something with, running her on soft ground at Goodwood.
She ran a really good race considering, and hopefully back on more preferred ground, she can run an excellent race at Chelmsford.
As always, best of luck to our owners, we hope to see you all at the tracks this week!
