Welcome back to the Dare To Dream weekly blog!
Once again, it’s safe to say last week didn’t go to plan at all.
Rhubarb Bikini ran too badly to be true on Tuesday. After the race we came to the conclusion he had ran too many times in a short period of time.
The gelding had only ran 5 times in 14 months before joining us, and since joining the team, he’d run 4 times in 6 weeks.
We will send him away for a few weeks of rest and recovery, and then have him back prepared for the turf.
On Saturday, Swiss Flamingo ran a bit of a disappointing race, finishing last.
However, Swiss was up against some fantastic horses, and now she has a handicap mark, should be a lot more competitive.
Monday brings a new week, and a fresh start we hope, with a whopping 5 runners over the week.
Monday 10th May – 1.50 Lingfield – Fujaira King
We’ve touched on it before, but it’s clear to see Fujaira King just isn’t enjoying his racing at the moment. We hope that he will run well, but if he doesn’t we may have to look for another career for him. Unfortunately it happens in Horse Racing, but we will reassess after the race.
Fujaira King certainly retains ability, it just depends whether he wants to use it. He’s currently out of sorts, but we hope something will change here.
Monday 10th May – 3.00 Lingfield – Vandad & Pink Flamingo
A double pronged approach in the 3pm at Lingfield.
Firstly, Vandad is running in our colours for the first time. He ran against our Cappananty Con a few weeks back, and caught our attention. He then went to the sales where we were lucky enough to purchase him.
We think very highly of him, and hope he runs a nice race. He’s entitled to come on for the run however, and will be a great addition to our team for the summer.
Pink Flamingo has been a fantastic servant for us, and has recently dropped to a handy mark. We hope she also runs well, and would love both horses to be in the frame!
We’re excited to see Vandad run for the first time for us, and also looking forward to Pink Flamingo being back on track. Hopefully both can run nice races.
Friday 13th May – 2.25 Newbury – Concierge
After his excellent display at Goodwood with only 3 shoes, Concierge goes to Newbury for the strong class 2 handicap.
He’s been running valiantly in defeat, and anyone who knows about these top handicaps will know that most horses pop up with a win soon enough!
He’ll be running off a low weight here, and hopefully he can run another almighty race.
Concierge has been a great horse to train since joining us last year. He’ll get back to winning ways very soon I’m sure, hopefully it’ll come here.
Friday 13th May – 4.20 Newmarket – Street Parade
Our final runner of the week sees Street Parade head to Newmarket for the Hands & Heels Apprentice race.
Our lad needs to regain his confidence and we think a race where no whips are in play should suit him down to the ground.
He really deserves a win, and has matured a lot more since joining us. Hopefully he can have his day at Newmarket.
Street Parade has been running consistently lately which has been nice to see. We’d all love to see him get a win.
From Sales Ring to Racecourse
Welcome back to our Physics update!
Many of his owners were down at Epsom last Saturday to see him on the gallops, and he looked a picture.
Hopefully it won’t be too long before we have news of an entry for him, and we can finally see him on the track.
We managed to get a few nice pics of him, so until then, enjoy these!
Finally, a big good luck to all our owners this week. Hopefully we can grab a long overdue winner!
