After a long 32 years, the 2020 Dodgers finally brought home another World Series trophy. By no means was bringing the Commissioner’s Trophy back home to the city of angels an easy task. After a devastating 2017 and 2018 season, the Dodgers were hungry for a World Series win.

In 2017, the Dodgers lost to the Houston Astros in Game 7 of the World Series. What made the loss more devastating was the fact that the Dodgers lost on their home turf. In 2018, the Dodgers had another spectacular season and landed a spot in the World Series. With back-to-back appearances in the World Series, the Dodgers had one goal on their minds. To bring Los Angeles a World Series trophy. However, the Dodgers fell to the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox had complete control over the series with taking the lead in Game 1. The Dodgers did win Game 3, however, the Red Sox came back and won Game 4 and Game 5. With a win in Game 5, the Red Sox were crowned the World Series champions. To add more salt to the wound, the Dodgers were defeated at home once again.

In 2019, the Dodgers did not make a World Series appearance. In 2020, they were in the Championship once again.

2020 was a roller coaster ride for many. The season was filled not only with adversity but also with a lot of sacrifices. The Dodgers once again made the World Series, and this time played the Tampa Bay Rays. The series sure had me at the edge of my seat. With the Dodgers taking the lead in Game 1, the Rays came back in Game 2 to tie up the series. The Dodgers and the Rays were fighting tooth and nail for the World Series win. However, only one team can lift the trophy at the end of the evening and that team was the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers won the Series in Game 6. The final score was 4-2.

FINALLY!!!! The Los Angeles Dodgers are World Series Champions once again. The last time the Dodgers won the World Series was in 1988. To watch your home team win baseball’s most prized trophy sure made my heart happy. After several disappointing seasons, the Dodgers finally got to hoist up the Commissioner’s Trophy and celebrate all the blood, sweat, and tears that went into bringing that trophy back home to the city of angels.

On Friday, April 9, 2021, the Los Angeles Dodgers got their long-awaited World Series rings. Watching the Ring Ceremony was sure a special moment that Dodger fans will remember forever. I know I will.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2020 Los Angeles Dodgers!!
