Quickly running out of season to get this right, and to break my streak of getting one single game in my bet wrong, which seems to have happened 47 times this season. Week 10. Bosh.
Detroit Dead Certy
Detroit are -3 against Washington, which is actually quite insulting to Matt Stafford, in my humblest of opinions. Washington struggled against and eventually lost to the Giants last week, and as far as I’m aware nothing has changed drastically since then. Alex Smith starts for Washington, and don’t get me wrong, I love the story, but the poor guy is too long removed from the league and just looks off the pace.
I feel bad speaking ill of Alex, mans a legend, huge respect for him AND his Mrs is a solid 10. He’s winning. Just not today.
Kenny Golladay is out for the Lions as he recovers from that injured hip. Hockenson is doubtful too but despite this i’m confident the Lions win, and cover, against a struggling Washington team.
Lions at -3 please sir.
Arizona Bounce Back
The Cardinals took a tough loss to the Dolphins last week (hehe), and Kyler looked pissed to say the least. Not going out to meet Tua and shake his hand, Kyler instead shot straight into the tunnel, and mumbled his way through the post game interviews. Far from impressed to have come up short. Not pointing any fingers… (points finger aggressively at Zane Gonzales).
The Bills travel to Arizona after defeating the Seahawks at home last week. Josh Allen has a niggle in his shoulder but has practiced all week, so we’ll see how that’s affecting him today. Micah Hyde is questionable in the secondary with an ankle issue.
I’m still not buying into the Bills, and I think the 7-2 record is covering up the imperfections.
The Cardinals bounce back today, taking their frustration from the Dolphins game out on their AFC East rival Buffalo Bills. Miami kept Deandre Hopkins quiet all game last week, so he’ll be keen to make up for that today, and the Bills are missing Josh Norman in the secondary due to a positive COVID test, which also cost them Levi Wallace due to close contact ruling. There’s never a good time to be missing half of your secondary, but when you’re turning up to play against Kyler, who has D Hop, Fitz, Christian Kirk to throw at, good luck to you.
Miami to cover
The Dolphins are favourites going into a home game against LA, who visit the east coast for this afternoons game.
The Chargers have struggled to close games out and have not managed to win so far with Justin Herbert at the helm. That isn’t necessarily his fault, but it does mean their momentum is trending in the wrong direction, where as Miami are totally going the other way.
Tua looked incredibly sharp against the Cardinals and put on an impressive performance to come away with the win. The defence is rolling and although they lost Christian Wilkins this week, Kyle Van Noy was reactivated and will play.
The Chargers will be without Joey Bosa which will make a monumental difference, and never rule out how hot it gets on the visiting sideline in Miami. We saw it with the Rams, and it took it’s toll, and I’d expect the hot weather to play a part once again today, It’s a big test for Justin Herbert against a very good Miami defence, and with Byron Jones and Xavien Howard out there looking after Keenan Allen, i’d anticipate a mistake or two.
Points between Houston and Cleveland
Horrible game to try and call, and betting on which Baker Mayfield will show up is proving to be difficult as we’ve previously learned the hard way.
Nick Chubb makes his return and will be keen to get his legs going again after a few weeks out. Denzel Ward didn’t practice yesterday for non injury related reasons, so we don’t know whats going on there. If he doesn’t play it will support the over even more.
The game just has back and forward late shootout written all over it, would hate to call the game, but I’ll take a bet on points.
Over at 45.5. Early touchdowns for both teams please.
Ravens -7 at Patriots
Am I the only one that thinks this is a little off for the spread. I know Lamar isn’t playing his best football this season, with a little hangover from the MVP season, but that being said, this Patriots team has come out and had a mare several times this year, and the Ravens have one of the most powerful defences in the league.
It’s Sunday night football, it’s the last one on the schedule if the others all come in, and it will mean watching this game with a heavy passion for the Patriots to lose. I just feel like it’s slightly lopsided, and a tad too kind to the Ravens.
I like the spread, I like the Ravens, and I know Calais Campbell is out, but take a look at the injury report for the Patriots…
So a £5 bet returns just over £150, which would be a lovely little sum on this crisp November Sunday evening. Let’s have ourselves a day.
