I’m back, it’s been a busy week or so… but I’m back! Let’s fly straight into week 5. Starting with Kyler Murray. BANG DEAD CERTS INCOMING.
Kyler Comeback Cover
The Cardinals have well and truly made me look silly since I blew smoke up their asses in the podcast a couple of weeks ago. When they started out 2-0 and secured a comfortable win against the Niners I was all in. Since then they’ve looked poor and dropped games to the Lions and Panthers, which in my opinion are both poor games to lose for Arizona.
This week, they’ve got the ShJets, the real bad Adam Gase ShJets. The Jets don’t have the defence to contain or slow down the offensive firepower of the Cardinals, I honestly think Kyler will have a field day. And on offence the Jets are just, bad.
Arizona at -7 is a gift for me. Without the last two weeks poor performances it would have been a tonne higher. I’m all in on this one.
Panthers Falcons covering the over EASILY
The Over Under on the game is currently 54 points. I can see them covering this without even a sweat. A nice hot start for both offences will be key, and touchdowns on each teams first drive would be ideal. The Falcons currently have the 2nd worst passing defence statistically in the league, behind only the Seahawks.
The Panthers will look to exploit a banged on Falcons defence, with stars Grady Jarrett & Keanu Neal facing injuries, while Ricardo Allen, Takk McKinley and others also enduring limited practice this week. On offence Matt Ryan and his boys seem to have it figured out, and the Panthers are young and fairly inexperienced across the secondary, so the veteran QB will have a chance to exploit that. Sounds like it’s made up to be a shoot out to me, wouldn’t like to try and call the winner, especially with the Falcons choking themselves out every week, so i’ll just take the over and look for points points points.
Bengals Offensive Line Horror Show
Joey B and the Bengals head to Baltimore to face one of the best defensive fronts in the league, which is totally geared up to be a complete nightmare for Joe. The spread is 11-5, and the Ravens have scored 30+ in each game so far barring the Chiefs off night. I can see the Ravens easily putting up 40, and the Bengals will be lucky to crack 20.
Lamar missed some practice this week, but has been declared good to go, so let’s not spend any time worrying about that (famous last words).
The Bengals are bad against the run, where as the Ravens are very good, which means a complete mismatch incoming. Baltimore will shut down Joe Mixon and any run game the Bengals plan to have, forcing Joe to throw the ball and his offensive line to ‘block’ for him. Multiple sacks, a lot of pressure, an ugly day for the Bengals on offence through no fault of the number one pick. Can see this one getting out of control and the Ravens running away with it.
Ravens to cover the -11 spread.
This one seems generous at a -7 for the Steelers. At 3-0, Pittsburgh currently have one of the most efficient looking defences in the league. They are currently ranked number one in run defence, and the Eagles are downright bad at the best of times.
Wentz needs to get it figured out, even the win against a banged up 49ers team wasn’t convincing, and this week is going to be a reality check for a hopeful Philly team.
Steelers have walked their match ups so far and shut down opponents on defence. That being said, they haven’t scored more than 28 points yet this season, and I’m banking on that changing today. Somewhere around the 35-17 range, i’ll take the Steelers to cover in this one.
THE DOLPHINS & the POINTS
Rest in peace when this is the one that screws me, BUT. Hear me out.
So Jimmy G is back and I appreciate that might mean more efficiency from the Niners. That being said, the Dolphins have a point to prove and just something about the way Fitz is and the way his career goes, I can see some sort of heroics coming out of him today.
The Dolphins fan base is calling for Tua, Flores is under pressure to put him in, and a solid offensive performance today gives them a chance to get the media and the fan base off their backs. We all want to see Tua, me more than anybody trust me, but I don’t want him rushed. The time we have to allow him to settle is a luxury we should be taking full advantage of.
Fitz to shine, Gesicki to get involved again after a quiet week, and with Byron Jones back we’ll have a big boost on defence. We might not win, but I’ll take us keeping it close, give me the 8 points and I’ll take my Fins.
It’s not an emotional decision i swear. Promise.
Check this bad boy out, a £10 bet on Bet365 offers me 290.67 in return, and boy am I excited about this DEAD CERT. Football Sunday boys and girls, let’s have some fun.
