I’ve never been as excited as this to watch Aston Villa play football. Everyone is looking at the blockbuster game that follows with Arsenal travelling to the Etihad, but this will be a sick game.

Pre-lockdown Villa were on a run of four straight Premier League defeats before the season came to a grinding halt, but it won’t feel like that now 100 days on since they last played. Its a fresh start for Villa, but they need players to step up so the focus is less on Jack Grealish to produce the goods. Hopefully for Villa with John McGinn returning to the squad from his injury he will be a huge boost to their survival hopes.

Sheffield United have been one of the stand out teams I’ve watched this year. They last lost a Premier League game all the way back in January which was to Manchester City of all teams. They are currently in 7th spot and a win today will put them up to 5th spot, which could potentially be a Champions League spot. Hats off to Chris Wilder for what he’s managing to achieve.

If I’ve learnt anything from watching the Bundesliga season, home advantage is no longer a thing but without fans in the stadiums, the tension for sides struggling at the bottom is lifted. There will be no groaning or bad reactions from frustrated fans when someone makes a mistake. I’m going for Villa to come out of this game victorious.

Anty’s prediction 2-1 Villa.
